La Bourgeoise 2020 from the Bourgeois family is a Loire wine made from old vines planted on flinty hillsides originally farmed by the monks of St-Satur. This renowned terroir gives this cuvée exceptional minerality and persistence on the palate. This plot is cultivated with respect for the environment and biodiversity, using grass between the rows, organic fertilisers only, and meticulously limiting inputs and yields.
Vinification takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel vats and in oak barrels from the Forest of Tronçais. This Sancerre wine is aged on fine lees for 7 to 8 months, with regular stirring of the lees. The wine is then aged in bottle in the estate’s cellars.

Arnaud, Lionel and Jean-Christophe Bourgeois are the third generation to run the family estate, which was founded in 1950 by Henri Bourgeois. With a surface area of 72 hectares, the Famille Bourgeois vineyard stretches across a mosaic of terroirs made up of clay-limestone soils, Kimmeridgian marl and flint, all of which contribute to the signature of each of these Loire wines. The Bourgeois family’s passion and rigour, both in vineyard management and in plot-based vinification, of which they were one of the pioneers, have produced wines renowned for their quality, finesse and precision.
