The “Prince de Dombes” farm-raised guinea fowl is raised for 96 to 110 days outdoors on grassy, shaded soils. It has golden skin and its flesh is tasty and tender! The “Label Rouge” certification guarantees poultry of a hardy, high-quality breed. As such, their feed is strictly controlled and their hygiene conditions are highly regulated. These “Le Prince” poultry are raised in the Dombes region, “des mille étangs,” where several breeders have joined forces to offer us a complete range under the “Label Rouge” label. The poultry feed is 100% plant-based and mineral-based.
Guinea fowl are generally a little smaller than a chicken and the meat flavour is somewhere between chicken and pheasant, with a mild gamey flavour. It is a leaner meat than chicken, containing about half the amount of fat. Roast or braise, in a stew or curry as you would a chicken.
